The Book Fair takes place from August 3rd to 12th at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion in São Paulo.

The event is being held by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL) and is supported by Brazilian Publishers, an internationalization project of Brazilian editorial content carried out through a partnership between CBL and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Both writers get on stage at the Cultura Arena to talk to the public about their stories and the construction of suspense and terror narratives. A. J. Finn, whose work was sold to more than 30 countries, presents himself on August 5th, at 1:30 p.m.

On August 8th, at 4 p.m., it’s Donlea’s turn. The author’s books already reach the mark of 150 thousand copies sold in Brazil. He will talk about his first two books, share some inspirational stories and release his new Thriller, “Don’t Believe It”.

Karina Pino is a curator of the São Paulo Book Fair and affirms that the audience of the event is very into the genre of terror and suspense.

“Thriller is a genre that has a lot of strength out there and there is a lot of works translated here in Brazil. Overall, we’ve always had that kind of genre at the Book Fair and it’s a style the audience likes. Both authors have lots of fans overseas and here too”, she affirmed.

Here in Brazil, the works of terror and suspense have been attracting more and more readers.

In January of this year was founded the Brazilian Association of Writers of Romances Police, Suspense, and Terror (Aberst), which will soon create an annual award for authors of the segment, similar to what happens in other countries
